Falmouth University has supported us from the start and in turn we have had the opportunity to work with some of the resident students and organisations, and in our way, reciprocate the support.
My first experience with the university was 35 years ago (then Falmouth School of Arts) when I was accepted as a student on the BTEC Art & Design course in Woodlane. Fifteen years later I was running my own chartered design business and working with the university marketing team during the transitions from College to University.
And the connection continues as the University campus shops now stock our Scence products and we enjoy continued support from our student customers.
We in turn, have been invited to get involved and support some important and future-conscious projects initiated by the caring and conscientious people that will go forward and shape our world.
Here are some of them…
Save Our Suds is a project which highlights the need and potential to swap plastic packaged bathroom products for more eco-friendly and sustainable products. Initiated by student scientists on the Geography and Environmental Science course.
MarineWatch, a student-led marine interest and conservation society for Falmouth and Exeter university students at the joint campus in Penryn. Fundraising for the conservation charity MARINElife, a UK based research, education and conservation charity conducting year round scientific surveys of whales, dolphins and seabirds.
The Beach Clean Project a student led volunteering project running through the University of Exeter. Based at the Penryn campus, the project aims to help clean Cornwall’s beaches and also encourage students and locals to live more consciously and sustainably.
Alfie Challis Film Student – Alfie is a talented and passionate film maker who is helping us create amazing films to bring more information about making Scence to the world. Here he is filming in the lab with Issy Stephens.
What goes around comes around and we are right there with you in your positive endeavours to make a meaningful difference in shaping the future. Keep up the good work!
