OUR ELECTRICITY
Our electricity is mainly supplied by solar panels.
We minimise our usage of electricity by the use of energy saving equipment wherever possible.

Scence HQ
Our building is brand new, low carbon and highly sustainable, with solar power panels located on the roof.
The building has been designed to maximise insulation and ventilation.
It encompasses the very latest building technology to provide the highest level of sustainable construction, achieving an “Excellent” BREEAM rating.
SHIPPING, PACKAGING, RECYCLING & WASTE
Our single biggest waste product is cardboard and paper. We shred and re-use all office paper waste and use it in re-packaging. Cardboard boxes are re-used for delivering to our wholesale buyers.
All our products are shipped to customers in Green jiffy bags which are 100% paper.
We recycle and re-use packaging that our ingredients are delivered in. For example the tubs that our mango butter is supplied in go on to be used as growing troughs to a local micro greens producer for growing seedlings.
OUR PRODUCT PACKAGING
We worked with a UK-based producer to create our own plastic-free, paper based packaging for our products.
This means that all our tubs and pots are 100% composable and recyclable.
We’ve also create a special lining that protects both the product and the packaging for the life of the product.
INGREDIENTS, suppliers and GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITY
We ask all our suppliers to complete a comprehensive Supplier Audit Form, that includes questions about their use of palm oil, their cruelty-free status and their packaging.

ECOSYSTEMS & THE AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT
We only use packaging and ingredients which will break down in such a way as not to pollute ecosystems and the aquatic environment.
We continually monitor new ingredients which come to the market which can further enhance our environmental commitments.
We support Surfers Against Sewage and other environmental groups looking to protect our precious ecosystems.
